Jimmy Burke is a partner of the law firm of Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman and Dicker, LLP. He has been with the firm for over 15 years. He is a trial attorney. He has tried numerous cases to verdict in both state and federal court. Mostly, Jimmy appears for the defense on behalf of persons and business entities that have been sued in negligence and products liability claims. He has obtained several defense verdicts. He is also currently supervising the defense of many tort claims in multiple jurisdictions throughout the United States. Jimmy has handled many high profile and mass fatality cases and he assists the firm with emergency responses to quickly deal with developing potential litigation cases. Prior to working at Wilson Elser, Jimmy was a 20 year veteran of the New York City Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant of Detectives. Jimmy teaches the Torts curriculum in the Paralegal Studies program and he brings to the students his practical perspective from his 35 years of experience in the law and in law enforcement.
