No one leadership style fits every leader or organization, and identifying one that works for employees and management can be a complicated endeavor. Our course puts focuses on developing and enhancing your own leadership style and competencies. Throughout the course, students will be engaged through the use of self-assessments, instructor and peer feedback, and role play. Students will also be able to share their leadership experiences through round table discussions. At the end of the course, students will walk away with practical, actionable tips that they can begin implementing and practicing within their personal leadership development immediately.
Learners will examine topics such as: leadership styles and traits; the distinction between leadership and management; communication and learning styles; creating and communicating a vision; giving and receiving feedback; the importance of empathic listening, emotional courage and integrity in leading; and the art of influencing others. Participants will earn a Pace University Certificate of Completion.
Upon completion of the course, learners will receive two, 45-minute, one-on-one coaching sessions to sustain and support the learner’s efforts implementing their leadership action plan.
This course will utilize a hybrid delivery format. There will be two, live (face-to-face format) class meetings—one at the start of the course, and one at the end—and four weeks of online course content, engagement, and assignments, delivered by way of an online learning management system.
This course is approved for valuable re-certification credits by both HRCI and SHRM.
This course is approved for 10 re-certification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR, and GPHR re-certification.
This course is approved for 10 Professional Development Credits (PDCs) toward SHRM-CP & SHRM-SCP re-certification.
